What is the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA)?
The ACA is an annual campaign of the Archdiocese of Seattle that starts in April each year. This campaign supports the programs and ministries serving our brothers and sisters throughout Western Washington, from Vancouver to Blaine, and Forks to Snoqualmie. It also funds Archdiocesan services and programs that directly support our parishes and missions. Read more about how your support makes a difference in the 2024-2025 Annual Impact Report.
Why donate to the ACA when I already give to my parish’s stewardship campaign?
Your Annual Catholic Appeal donation helps fund ministries and services that benefit people across parishes, cities, cultures, and generations. This includes hospital and healthcare ministry, prison ministry, immigrant and refugee ministry, multi-cultural ministry, seminarian formation, faith formation, youth and young adult ministry, and so much more.
How does ACA support my parish?
Parishes are the direct recipients of the ministries and services supported by the Annual Catholic Appeal. Shared services include human resources, clergy and leadership training, financial services, communications, property and construction, and information technology, to name a few. Centralizing these services is cost effective and allows parishes to spend more time fostering their parish and community. With your support, we can simplify workloads, improve communication, and elevate the faith journey for every person within our archdiocese.
Parishes that exceed their Annual Catholic Appeal goal receive that overage as a rebate toward a parish project. Many parishes have used this opportunity to fund a kitchen remodel, install new playground equipment, or invest in a new sound system—all to give back to their parish community.
How much should I give?
Give the amount that is most meaningful to you. Last year the average donation across the archdiocese was $575. Please consider a contribution of 1% or more of your annual income to support this vital campaign. Even a dollar a day — $365 over the course of a year — goes a long way in supporting our local Catholic community.
